EU – Publication of Updated List of Standards Harmonised under Personal Protective Equipment Directive

The updated list of standards harmonised under the Personal Protective Equipment Directive (89/686/EEC) has been published in the EU’s Official Journal. The harmonised standards can demonstrate presumption of conformity with the essential or other requirements of the Personal Protective Equipment Directive.
Standards added for:

• Guided type fall arresters including an anchor line – EN 353-1:2014
• Sunglasses and related eyewear – EN ISO 12312-2:2015
• Firefighters helmets for technical rescue – EN 16473:2014

Standards updated for:

• Accessory cord for mountaineering – EN 564:2014
• Anchor devices for personal fall protection – EN 795:2012
• Protective clothing for use in welding and allied processes – EN ISO 11611:2015
• Clothing to protect against heat and flame – EN ISO 11612:2015
• Protective gloves for motorcycle riders – EN13594:2015
• Clothing to protect against flame – EN ISO 14116:2015
