SASO Recognition Certificate Now Required

SASO Announced New Requirement for Shipment Certificate for Exports of Selected Electricals

SASO has recently announced a new requirement for SASO Recognition Certificate which shall be effective from 15th February, 2018.  

This is a Mandatory Certificate to be accompanied by the CoC for clearance of the Shipment at the KSA Customs Ports/Borders. 

This Recognition Certificate is issued by SASO based on a valid IECEE Test Report issued by a Certification Body Testing Laboratory (CBTL) IECEE approved lab)  and a valid IECEE CB Certificate issued by a National Certification Body (NCB) only.  

Currently, this new requirement is only applicable to the below-mentioned list of products: 

• Mobile Devices
• Car Batteries and Mobile Phone Batteries
• Water Pumps 
• Dishwashers
• TV Sets
• Chargers for Mobile Phones and Parts
• Lighting, (Lamps and Luminaires)
• Electric Motors
• Portable Computers (Laptops and Tablets)
